THE ACADEMIC PROGRAMME OF THE INSTITUTION MAINLY CONSISTS OF SECTIONS ‘A & B’ EXAMINATIONS, POPULARLY KNOWN AS THE AMIIE EXAMINATION.

The IIE is a multi-disciplinary body responsible for qualifying engineers and setting standards for training and admission of engineers. Admission is normally into one of the 61+ Disciplines. Each Discipline has its Discipline Advisory Panel.

AMIIE in Production Engineering

About

B.Tech Production Engineering is an undergraduate 4-year course which introduces students to the fundamentals of production and operations management.B.Tech Production Engineering enables the engineers to improve efficiency and effectiveness of manufacturing and service sector industries. The basic eligibility for admission to the course is a 10+2 with science subjects including physics, chemistry, and mathematics. The admission in most of the colleges is done through any of the various entrance tests conducted at national and state level.Production engineering is a combination of manufacturing technology with management science, whereas a production engineer deals with engineering practices and management challenges related to production. Production engineering has wide application in casting, joining processes, metal cutting and tool design, metrology, machine tools, machining systems, operation research, quality control, mechatronics.

In short, production engineering deals with the integrated design and efficient planning of the entire manufacturing system.

A B. Tech degree in Production Engineering opens up various avenues in development and management of new production process, implementation, information and control systems and computer controlled inspection, assembling and handling in both private and public sectors. Besides this, there are thriving opportunities in the production sector such as automation industry, refinery, textile industry etc. In the government sector too, there are various job oportunities for Production Engineers like PSCs, SSC, UPSC, Defence Services etc.
