What is an Honorary Fellow?
An Honorary Fellow of IIE is an individual selected for honorary recognition by the Indian Institution of Engineers in acknowledgement of distinguished achievement, professional standing or significant contribution within engineering, technology, industry, education, research, entrepreneurship, management, innovation or society.
Honorary Fellowship celebrates individuals who have created meaningful impact through their knowledge, experience, leadership and contribution.
An Institutional Honour
Unlike an academic programme, Honorary Fellowship is not earned by completing classes, examinations or a prescribed course of study. It is based on the individual's profile, achievements and contribution, subject to IIE's applicable nomination, evaluation and approval process.

Honorary Fellowship Is Not an Academic Degree
The IIE Honorary Fellowship is an honorary institutional distinction. It is not an academic bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree and should not be represented as an academic qualification.
It does not require completion of an academic course or examination. Recognition is conferred subject to IIE's applicable nomination, evaluation and approval requirements.
The distinction does not by itself confer a statutory engineering licence, government registration, employment entitlement, immigration benefit or regulatory approval.

A professional profile or nomination is submitted for consideration.
Profile Review
Career, achievements, experience, leadership and contribution are reviewed.
Evaluation
The nomination is evaluated against applicable Honorary Fellowship criteria.
Institutional Approval
Eligible nominations are considered through IIE's prescribed approval process.
Conferment
Approved individuals are conferred the Honorary Fellowship of the Indian Institution of Engineers.
